Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Mwangazza is a cloud-based school operations platform that provides tools for student management, attendance tracking, exam and grading management, financial administration, timetable scheduling, and parent-school communication.

2. Accounts and Access

• You create your own personal Mwangazza account. Having an account does not by itself give you access to any school.
• A person who opens a school on Mwangazza sets it up and manages it. Each school decides who works in it and with which roles, and it keeps its own student records.
• Parents and guardians sign in to the Mwangazza Family app. A student uses the app only on a phone that a parent sets up.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You must not share your account with others or use another person's account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or data.
• Upload malicious content or interfere with the Service's operation.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute data from the Service without authorization.
• Use the Service to store data unrelated to school management.

4. Data Ownership

Schools retain full ownership of their data. Mwangazza acts as a data processor on behalf of schools. We do not claim ownership of any student records, financial data, or other school information stored in the system.

5. Payment Terms

• Subscription fees are billed according to the selected plan.
• For school fees, Mwangazza is not part of the payment path. The platform displays the payment instructions a school provides to its parents and records payments on the school's behalf; it does not process, hold, or transmit parent fee payments. Parents pay their school directly.
• Subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period; we do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a period, though exceptional refunds may be considered case-by-case.

6. Service Availability

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors beyond our control.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mwangazza shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by your school for the Service in the preceding 12 months.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Schools may request account termination at any time. Upon termination, we will provide a reasonable period for data export.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify schools of material changes at least 30 days in advance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Dar es Salaam.
